Development of a Music Blocks 2.0

2021/09/12 Editor’s Note: Since the time of this writing, the development team has decided to call the project “Music Blocks 4.0”. The links below still work as they forward to the new repositories, but the direct links are https://github.com/sugarlabs/musicblocks-v4 and https://github.com/sugarlabs/musicblocks-v4-builder-framework

Sugar Labs developers are beginning work on a Music Blocks 2.0, which has been forked at https://github.com/sugarlabs/musicblocks-2

For those interested in contributing to the development of an updated and improved Music Blocks, we invite you to join the conversation on GitHub or by contacting us directly.

The main goals are performance improvements and easier contributor on-boarding through architectural improvements. This means that features that have run with poor performance in the past should run more efficiently (i.e. quicker), and that it should be easier for new contributors to make smaller, more focused contributions without needing to learn thousands of lines of code.
