Flamenco Chord Progressions

Editor’s Note: This is a guest post created by Nathan via the Contribute a Post feature on this website. It has been minimally edited by Devin Ulibarri.

My Project

This program plays a series of chords, in the key of D minor, in a flamenco styled rhythm consisting of eight and sixteenth notes.

This loop is meant to be played with a beginner guitar student following the notes on the screen. The “Mr. Mouse” jumps around from note to note, making it easy for the player to follow along with the chords.

In addition, the notes that are played are all on the high E-string, and the program comes with images to help a student locate the note. This program uses 5 different chords: D minor, F major, B flat major, A major, and C major.

Next Steps

In the future, I would like to add more visuals and chords, as well as optimization of the code.

Also, while working on this project, we uncovered a bug with the chord blocks; it is necessary to refresh the browser every time it is ran in order to get a good performance.
